Mary is an atrial fibrillation coordinator for the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She assists in coordinating care for patients with atrial fibrillation in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Mary has worked closely with the Department of Electrophysiology at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute to care for patients with cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heart beats) since 2005. Mary’s previous role as pacemaker nurse for the Device Clinic at Northwestern has given her the experience and interest to focus now on the care of patients with atrial fibrillation.
Mary provides comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of patient’s with atrial fibrillation, pacemakers and defibrillators. Mary believes in customer satisfaction and will go above and beyond to accomplish it. She practices clear patient teaching by utilizing verbal and written communications tools for better patient understanding, including proper follow up care.
Prior to her current position, Mary managed the post-operative care of patients’ with implantable cardiac devices (ICD’s) and worked in various emergency departments in the Chicagoland area with over ten years experience.
